Unofficial firmware for LG 9xxx series by xypro
Website: http://pwp.netcabo.pt/dhammer/

Use this firmware at your own risk.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
You can check if your player is compatible with my firmware in my website, in extra section there is a compatibility list.

If you are upgrading xypro's firmware for the first time, and your player isn't an LG 9843K, you must do the following steps in order to upgrade:

1st - Open disk tray
2nd - Go to setup, in setup go to 16:9 - highlight that (but don't select it).
3rd - On remote type in 1,3,9,7,1,3,9 then press ENTER key.

When you do this it will result in a factory defaults reset.
And you will see a screen with your system information.

Rename firmware file "LV9E12203B.MIH" to your "MODEL ID.MIH" (Keeping the folder structure)
In the end you should burn the cd-r/rw, with following structure:
X:\LG_DVD\FIRMWARE\UPGRADE\LG\"MODEL ID.MIH"

It is recommended to burn at low speed, like 4x, and to use file format: ISO9660.

After burning cd-r/rw, just insert cd in your player and follow instructions. Upgrading your player might take a while, up to 4 minutes, during the upgrading process never pull the power cord off, if you do, it will kill your player, wait as long as necessary for it to finish.

In the end after the upgrade, it's recommended to do a factory defaults reset, the steps to do it are mentioned above.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
After upgrading this firmware it's possible that you can run into 2 problems:
- If you notice that the image gets stretched, go to "LANGAGUES & MISC", and change "TV Standard" from "AUTO", to your TV System "PAL" or "NTSC".
- In DVD Movies, if the menu presents visual glitches, then go to "Display", "Display Mode" and select "Letterbox", this will restore things to normality, if you still want to watch the movie in pan scan, then after you press play go to setup and change it back to "Panscan".
- If when watching a DivX, you see that image gets too stretched vertically, go to "Display", "Display Mode" and select "Letterbox". Panscan patch was applied for mainly 16:9 DivX ar, if you have different ar image might get stretched.

INSTRUCTIONS ON NEW FEATURES:
Load Divx Subtitle:
+ By Name
The subtitles file(s) must be named like the movie. (Ex. movie.avi - movie.srt)
The firmware works this way by default.

+ All
All subtitles files, in the same folder as the movie, will be loaded.
You must select correct subtitles file by pressing the SUBTITLE button.
This is not good option, if you have a lot of TV series in a same folder.

+ By Name or All
This option combines both above-mentioned options.
First, it will try to find all subtitles that matches the movie name and
will load only these subtitles. If there isn't any subtitles that matches the
movie name, all subtitles will be loaded.

Notes
1) When you change this setting, restart the movie
2) Max number of subtitles that the firmware can load is 10
3) IDX/SUB subtitles still needs to be named like the movie

Remaining and total time:
To check remaining and total time of the movie, just click "Display" button, highlight time section, and in the lower bar you should be able to see the remaining and total time.
