Pesquisando na Internet aparelhos clones do nosso RJTech descobri uma informação interessante, que o aparelho não liga sem HDD nós já sabemos, agora, o motivo disso é que é interessante:
O VXWorks citado no firmware é um sistema operacional que é escrito no HDD na primeira vez que o aparelho faz o boot, ou seja, colocou um HDD novo no aparelho ele formata o dispositivo e escreve nele o sistema operacional que ele necessita para trabalhar, então, além do HDD servir para o TimeShifiting e Gravações também serve para armazenar o sistema operacional do aparelho. Há o complemento da informação de que talvez o aparelho possa trabalhar com um sistema operacional Linux embeded, mas foi a única referência que achei, mais nenhuma outra dizendo que se conseguiu usar esse tipo de software no aparelho
